Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction force expands and breaks open tiny blood vessels (capillaries) under your skin. Your body replenishes the cupped areas with healthier blood flow and stimulates healing at a cellular level, while releasing muscle tension.

At BPHAC, our skilled practitioners use cupping therapy as a natural and effective method to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and enhance overall well-being, providing a gentle yet powerful approach to holistic healthcare.

Cupping Toni Bphac

Anyone seeking natural and holistic approaches to alleviate physical pain or discomfort may benefit from cupping therapy as a main or supportive part of treatment.  Patients have seen positive results using cupping to treat the following conditions:

  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Postoperative pain and recovery
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Sports injuries
  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Hypertension
  • Digestive disorders
  • Respiratory issues like Ashtma
Bphac Acupuncture

Cupping therapy may cause temporary discomfort or a sensation of tightness during the session, but it’s typically not considered painful.

Cupping therapy sessions typically last between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the specific treatment plan and individual needs.  Cupping may be combined with other methods of treatment during your appointment.

While cupping therapy is generally considered safe, common side effects may include temporary skin discoloration, mild discomfort, or bruising at the cupping sites.  People who are pregnant or have certain heath conditions like hemophilia, deep vein thrombosis, or some skin conditions may not be candidates for cupping and should discuss with our team or a healthcare provider.

We recommend staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous activity for a few hours, and keeping the treated areas clean and moisturized to promote healing and minimize potential discomfort.
